THE GODS OF NORRATH
GOOD-ALIGNED GODS
(1) Mithaniel Marr -- "The Truthbringer"
Prophet: Sir Bayden Cauldthorn (Greater Faydark - Kelethin)
Avatar: ???
Mithaniel Marr governs the Plane of Valor. He is the ultimate paladin, wearing a full suit of shining silver plate armor and wielding a glowing longsword. He is allied with Erollisi Marr and Karana, and counts Innoruuk, Cazic-Thule and Bertoxxulous among his enemies. He has a friendly rivalry with Solusek Ro.
(2) Quellious -- "The Tranquil"
Prophet: Pacificator Merrek (Butcherblock)
Avatar: ???
This peaceful child-goddess is allied with Rodcet Nife and Erollisi Marr, and is an enemy to Rallos Zek and Innoruuk. Followers of Quellious seek peace. They are not pacifists, though, for the peace they seek is an inner one. They wish to know all there is to know about themselves and about the world around them, and believe that if every creature fully understood itself and its neighbors, there would be no need for conflict and war. Followers of Quellious often live a nomadic lifestyle, constantly seeking what there is to know and hoping to find themselves along the way.
(3) Tunare -- "The Mother of All"
Prophet: Eva Corunno'thes (Greater Faydark - Kelethin)
Avatar: Lesser Faydark
Allied with Karana, Erollisi Marr and Rodcet Nife, and an enemy of Bertoxxulous, Tunare rules the Plane of Growth. She appears as a mature but attractive human female, wearing flowing robes and a crown of vines and leaves. As part of an agreement with Brell Serilis and Prexus, and in response to the arrogance of Veeshan in claiming Norrath for her own, Tunare created the High Elves and the Wood Elves. She is very protective of them, considering them to be among her finest achievements.
NEUTRAL GODS
(1) Brell Serilis -- "The Duke of Below"
Prophet: Bronlor Stormhammer (Butcherblock)
Avatar: Kaladim
Brell Serilis is allied with Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane, and is an enemy of Veeshan. Though all of his followers -- most notably dwarves, gnolls and goblins -- find true happiness in the caves, caverns and tunnels that permeate Norrath, there is little upon which they can all agree.
(2) Solusek Ro -- "The Burning Prince"
Prophet: Civean Il'Pernod (Butcherblock)
Avatar: Lavastorm
Solusek Ro rules the Plane of Sun. (His father, Fennin Ro, the Tyrant of Fire, rules the Plane of Fire, from which the Plane of Sun derives its power.) Solusek wears a suit of golden ringmail and a crown of flame, and wields a spear of fire. He is allied with no one, and is enemies with no one, though he has a friendly rivalry with Mithaniel Marr.
EVIL-ALIGNED GODS
(1) Cazic-Thule -- "The Faceless"
Prophet: Danak Dhorentath (Butcherblock)
Avatar: Feerrott
Cazic-Thule is allied with Rallos Zek and Innoruuk, and is an enemy of Mithaniel and Erollisi Marr. Followers of the Faceless fear their Lord and believe that only by causing terror in others will they be spared his vengeful wrath. Fear rules their lives, and through fear they rule the lives of others. Pain, misery, violence, torture and living sacrifice are the tools of a Cazicite. Many lizardmen are devout servants of Cazic-Thule, but he has a growing number of humanoid followers, as well.
(2) Innoruuk -- "The Prince of Hate"
Prophet: Xilania Nevagon (Greater Faydark - Combine Spires)
Avatar: ???
Innoruuk is allied with Rallos Zek and Cazic-Thule, and is an enemy of Quellious and of Mithaniel and Erollisi Marr. The followers of Innoruuk, among whom are numbered nearly all of the dark elves, see hate as the most powerful force in the universe. Love and kindness are tools for those too ignorant to know what they want or too cowardly to do what is necessary to obtain it; pity and mercy have no power when confronted with contempt and viciousness. It is the belief of the followers of Innoruuk that if they were to hate strongly enough, they could destroy all of Norrath.
(3) Rallos Zek -- "The Warlord"
Prophet: Tychus Zeksworn (Butcherblock)
Avatar: ???
Rallos Zek is allied with Innoruuk and Cazic-Thule, and is an enemy of Quellious and Bertoxxulous. His followers believe in the survival of the strong and the death of the weak, and yearn for strength, courage, and above all, victory. They believe that the heat of battle is the only place where enlightenment can be gained, and that the universe was both formed by and will end in conflict. No respect or regard is given to the dead, for if they had been worthy, their hearts would still pump blood through their veins and not upon the soil of Norrath. The followers of Zek are almost exclusively warriors.

RELIGION IN NORRATH
Some of the gods of Norrath returned with the launch of the "Echoes of Faydwer" expansion. It is now possible for a character to become a follower of a specific god, gaining favor through quests and tithes which can then be used to purchase blessings and miracles.
HOW TO BECOME A FOLLOWER
Should you choose to worship a god, you can show your devotion by performing quests in his (or her) name. Speak with the Deity Historian, Philospher Rhimes, on the docks in the Butcherblock Mountains for directions to the various prophets. The prophet of your chosen god will then guide you through a series of progressive quests designed to test your devotion.
THE BENEFITS OF FOLLOWING A GOD
When you pick a deity and complete the first of the progressive quests that prove your devotion, you will receive an altar you can place in your home. Praying at your altar grants you the chance to receive a blessing (a short duration buff) or a miracle (either an instant effect or a very short duration buff). As you quest with the prophets you will gain access to more blessings and miracles, as well as favor (similar to faction), which is spent to purchase blessings and miracles. You can also tithe items at your altar to gain favor with your god. Completing the final progressive devotion quest rewards you with a cloak specific to your deity.
ALTARS
Each god has it own altar. Altars can be obtained through quests, purchased from NPC vendors, or created by PC carpenters. You can have up to five altars in your home (you cannot have altars to both good- and evil-aligned gods in your home), but you can only pray and tithe using the altar of your current deity. Better quality altars reduce the cost of blessings and miracles.
Each deity offers a total of five blessings and five miracles. Each quest completed for a given deity will unlock one of each. Any blessings and miracles you've unlocked can be purchased so long as you worship the deity in question. However, blessings and miracles can only be used once each; once used, they are removed from your knowledge book, and have to be purchased again.
First Quested Altar
Blessing cost: 750 favor; Miracle cost: 1312 favor
NPC-Sold Altar
Blessing cost: 689 favor; Miracle cost: 1207 favor (8% reduction)
Common Crafted Altar
Blessing cost: 629 favor; Miracle cost: 1102 favor (16% reduction)
Second Quested Altar
Blessing cost: 614 favor; Miracle cost: 1076 favor (18% reduction)
Rare Crafted Altar
Blessing cost: 569 favor; Miracle cost: 997 favor (24% reduction)
Note that the rare crafted altars are no-trade items. Unless you're a carpenter yourself, the only way to obtain one is to have a carpenter make it for you using the new (GU29) secure commission system.
THE AVATARS OF THE GODS
Each of the gods has an avatar (a level 75x4 contested raid mob) that will descend to Norrath if enough favor has been collected by his or her worshippers. The avatar will remain in Norrath for 3-5 days or until he (or she) is killed. Only one god's avatar can exist in Norrath at a time. If the avatar represents your god, you can approach him (or her) to receive a small, long-duration buff.
Avatars are not aggressive, even to followers of opposing deities.
Avatars can be killed by raid groups, but should probably not be attacked on their first day in Norrath. Avatars are at their strongest early in their stay, and get weaker as their time in Norrath continues.
If you attack your chosen god's avatar as part of a raid group, you will be briefly stunned and will lose all blessings and miracles currently active on your person. If you kill your god's avatar, you will lose 5000 faction points with your deity and will receive divine censure, which remains on your character for 24 hours game time. During divine censure, you cannot pledge devotion to a new deity, cannot sacrifice items to your original deity, cannot do deity-related quests, and cannot buy or use miracles or blessings.
